Metallica - Fight Fire with Fire/Ride the Lightning |
] |

Thank you to my loverly Selina for the banner! ^.^ *hugs and smooches*
There's going to be certain things that I will eventually be posting here that I don't want *everyone* to read, ya know? And I've heard horror stories about how someone posted something on their blog and it blew up in their faces, either at the customers suck communities or even that Annie girl who posted something seemingly harmless as an anti-Bush statement. Therefore, I'm not taking any chances. So yeah... that's my reason why I'm putting this friends only. ;-)
Anyway, on how to 'be my friend.' It's not that hard, really. I only ask for a two, simple things:
1) Have an open mind: Please don't be narrow minded about anything. I don't like people who can't tolerate other people's viewpoints and/or choices. If you are a sexist or racist, this is not the journal for you.
2) Accept my own personal diversity: Think of any kind of stereotype, I'll be sure to break it. You don't like it? Go somewhere else.
That's all. If you want to be added, leave a comment in this entry. *nods*

I want to be just like the others creative and have a friends only banner made up. What I would like is this and that picture on the top corners, this and that picture on the bottom corners, and in the middle, "Friends Only" in the St. Anger font, black background, white font. And of course, I do want the background and text of each of those pics chopped off or erased off, if possible...
*nods*
Any help would be greatly appreciated. XD!

You are Metallica! Once the kings of heavy metal, a punk "fuck you" attitude towards authority, now relaxed and nicely settled in the armchair with a nice cup of tea. Ahhh. You enjoy bitching about those damn kids getting your music for free. All that aside, you still rock with the best of them. A \m/ rating of 9

I just read an English translation of Usama Bin Laden's newest tape to Aljazeera via Georgie's journal. Very interesting, indeed. You know, instead of saying/typing how I feel about him, I'm just going to cast him into the hands of God, and let God deal with him. *nods*
Anyham, went to UMC today, and I was somewhat shocked to find only one person there. When he saw me, he was shocked and happy at the same time. He kept on telling me that I was a godsend. LMAO! Did my four hours and left. All I did was a few 'checkins' (he had to go back and forth from the back and the front, and even though I was in the office, people still managed to find me and ask to be checked in for surgery. o.o;;) and chart creation. I did a good chunk of it so he won't worry about it, as well as a few labeling. I asked him before I left if there was anything more, but he said that everything I could do has been done, so I could go home. *nods* I shall return there next Saturday.
After the hospital, I went to Wally World to get some stuff for my 'office.' I do intend to be a bit more on the organized side now that I have the procedures down and stuff. Well, most of the procedures, anyway. There's still a lot that I have to learn, but hey. That can only come with time. Also got a folder for the church's songbook. It's breaking apart, so I figured might as well get them a new one. :-D
As I was walking through Wally World, I found two things that I wanted to get my Pa: a Christmas CD of the ye ol' Christmas songs (Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, etc...), and a box of Christmas cards. I figured that since I have the money now, might as well get them for him. But I changed my mind because it's too friggin' early. Eh... I'll get them for him later on...
Speaking of Christmas, Macky already agreed to a Excalibur mug, so did Mareea... that leaves one more person to give this mug away to for Christmas. I already have one for myself that I'm using as a decoration for the kitchen, and I have those three spares. Two of them are already assigned. So... who wants the spare? I mean, all it's doing is collecting dust!
KoRn will be in town on the 18th of this month. *looks at calendar* It's a Thursday. I wouldn't have been able to go in the first place. *shrugs* Ah, well. Maybe next time.
Tomorrow, I'm going to have the last half of the day to myself. What should I do? The bars and the clubs bore me to no end, the casinos doesn't interest me at all at the moment... *le sigh* If I had an access to a recording studio, I'd be there instead, doing cover songs. :-/ Oh, well.

Nothing like a tape of good ol' Hawaiian songs after a long day at work.
Well, it wasn't so long. A bit on the productive side, I must say. I have half of the chart sequence down, but sheesh... it's a lot to remember. Practice, practice, practice. :-D
Anyham, got both checks today. From the hospital and the casino. Now I'm not rich, by all means, but I am able to pay a good chunk of my bills, which is cool. \m/ Right now, I have enough in my savings to get a flight to SF for the bash. *snerk* Shows you how much I miss hanging out with y'all. ;-)
Along with my paycheck from the hospital, I also received an invitation for the holiday party next month. Man, I'm not sure if I want to go or not. Formal holiday parties are never for me, but case management, administration, and my office are *wanting* me to go. *le sigh* I don't know... I told them I'll have to think about it.
Oh! You know that digital camera I've been wanting from the visa card applications over at the casino? Well guess what? I got enough apps to redeem that digital camera! *bounce* I filled out my address on the sheet, so I'll wait for that digi cam to arrive. :-D
Tomorrow, I go back to UMC for a day. I know, I haven't been there in two or three weeks, mostly because of everything that has been happening. Oi. Anyham, ending this entry now. Dog is barking, and Nana's son is here. *shakes head* I wonder what he did now... no, I take that back. I don't. I don't even want to think about it.
*waves* Nite nite, y'all.

*shrugs* Well, I did my part, so it doesn't matter. But I do want to say this: I sincerely hope and pray that Bush will use these next four years to repair the damage that he has done to this country and totally restore the confidence that he has lost in his people. Maybe four years isn't enough, maybe it is. Who knows. I pray that he will use them wisely.
*clears throat* So anyway...
After work, I stopped by at Excalibur to do my exit paperwork (you'd think they'd do this on my last day, hm?). Can't get my check until tomorrow since when I was over there, it was five 'til closing. Got three out of the four signatures needed before I go to HR (supervisor [host], main cage, and wardrobe) and *finally* get my check and my exit papers.
Oh, and one of my former co-workers called, and she's throwing a farewell party at her house in two Sundays, and guess who is one of the 'guests of honor'? Yeah... me! LOL! I'll go, just for kicks ;-) Plus, one of them is moving to North Carolina, so I'll say my goodbyes to her.
Gah! I wanted to say more in here, but I forgot what I wanted to type... Ah, forget about it. It's close to my bedtime, so I'm ending this entry for now. *waves* Good night, y'all.

Anyham, how are y'all doing today? For one, thanks to all for the bday wishes. I did have a kick ass bday. Second, today is E(lection) Day. Finally, those stupid "I approve this message" messages will stop! Yes, I already voted (remember, here in NV we do the whole 'early voting' thing, so I didn't have to wait until now), and yes, I voted for Kerry. Not that I imensely detest Bush, but let's just say that he didn't do anything to make me go "I'll vote for Bush!" He is a Christian, yes he is, and he bears the same belief system that I do, but dude... don't promise us that you won't put nuclear waste on Yucca Mountain, then after being elected, go on and approve the waste. And ever since he was in office, there hasn't been a raise in Social Security pensions (or was it army pensions? I forgot which one...). But in the other hand, if Bush were to be re-elected, I wouldn't mind. Maybe he does have some stuff planned to improve our country, maybe he doesn't. I just hope he doesn't make the same mistakes like what he did these past four years, you know?
Enough political talk. Let's get into another subject...
I'm progressing in my job a lot faster than what I expected. Still a few things I need to work out, but that can only come with practice. For example, assembling charts. I already know the first quarter of the sequence by heart, in addition to the miscellaneous paperwork that needs to be in the chart that I have to do. Did a dozen of releases (when people are requesting copies of medical records for whatever reason, whether it be continued care or disability), faxed a few dictations that had been sitting in my file folder for a month (*snerk* I know... but we do have a lot of stuff to do, and those are not a priority), and filed away reviewed and completed charts. Still have a lot of stuff to do for tomorrow, but hey... it's all good. At least we had a chunk of stuff we did out of the way...
I have to stop by at Excalibur yet again to do some final paperwork. But damn... their hours of operation is the same as my hours of work... *le sigh* I'll have to call them tomorrow and see what we can do about that...
Oh... and apparently, I'm already starting to earn my PTO hours. That means: Next year's bash, HERE I COME! XD!
Okay, I'm going to end this entry now. I'll be over there *points*

Anyham...
( First, a survey since I'm bored... )
So... I thought that Excalibur would do what Mandalay did and do my last paycheck via direct deposit. I thought wrong. Why? Because payday was supposed to be yesterday, yet they never did it. That means I have to go back there on Sunday, do the stupid paperwork, pick up my paycheck, drop off my locker and badge (they told me to keep the badge until I pick up my paystub and stuff... GAH!), and finally be done with that place... o.o;;
Anyway, today I went to Bingo with the 'rents. Nothing to say there because that speaks bordem volumes for itself...
Got a few bday cards from people. You know, my aunt is funny. Everytime she sends me something, and I'm not doing something that she likes me doing, she'll only put my first and last name on the envelope. BUT... when I'm doing something that she's proud of, i.e. what I'm doing now, having a job in the medical field, graduating from college, etc... she'll put my first, MIDDLE, and last name on the envelope (her last name is my middle name). She wants to make it known that we're related. *re* LOL! But I love her, anyway. A lot of the other people in our family don't really like her, but it's one of those 'you have to really know her so you can see how she communicates with you and show you how she loves you' kind of things, and I've known her all my life. *snerk* She gave me a $50 gift certificate to Journey's, and $20. Coolness. :-D
Well... it seems as if the Bay Area's well-known 92 KSJO has been shut down and changed to a Spanish station. You gotta wonder how many Spanish stations does one town/area need. *shakes head in pity* The day the music died...
Anyway, I'm ending this entry. Anique, glad to see that you had an awesome time at Boston! I'm surprised you still have your voice! LOL! After my first Metallica concert, it took me three days to fully gain my voice back. ;-) See y'all next update!

Anyway, new job is doing a lot better than I expected. I'm adapted to the whole 'no direct customer service' thing (Pfft! I've been ready for that since the good ol' McDonald's days!) and my working place is a bit on the active side when it comes to employee activities. Yesterday, we took a bit 'time off' from work to decorate our pumpkin. It looks cute. :-D On Christmas, they have a party. I might get an invite, I might not since I'm a newbie, but I won't go. Formal gatherings such as that, I've been trying to avoid for a long time...
Popup again! DARN YOU PEOPLE! >.<
Birthday is this weekend. I turn 22. *nods* Thank you, God. :-D I shall be celebrating it... I don't know where yet. LOL! I'll figure out a place later. Right now, I gotta get going for work. See y'all next update, hm? ;-)

this old man came rolling home...
:-X KoRn is stuck in my head. For what, I don't know...
Anyway, today was another interesting day. Did a bit more in my job. Pornie, you're right. This is a brand new chapter of my life. While I was working, my boss was right next to me, just to see how I'm doing and of course, looking over the charts to see if I did it right. Only did about three charts today, but she was like "That's better than when I started! It took me two charts for my whole shift!" LOL! That's not including the dictations that I did the first hour and a half, as well as the technical problems we were having. *shrugs* It comes with the territory, I reckon.
Oh, and you know what was interesting? While my boss was training me, she had a phone call from one of the nearby clinics regarding a resume from one of the people that used to work in that clinic that applied for the same job that I did. (The kicker is that the doctor that is in that clinic happens to be my boss' doctor... and on the same day I had the interview with her, I also applied and went to the interview with that doctor right before HealthSouth.) Here's how the convo went (I heard it because it was via speakerphone): Clinic: "You already know who I am!" My boss: *laughs* "I do. What do you need?" Clinic: "I was wondering if you had ****'s resume still?" My boss: "... Uh, no. I threw it away. Why do you ask?" Clinic: "What did she put in there as her job description? Do you still remember?" My boss: "I don't remember, honestly. I'm sorry. Is she applying for another job?" Clinic: "Yeah! Can you believe she was our office manager?" My boss: "... Really?" *shakes head*
That, of course, is only part of the convo. I gave my boss a look, and she says "You don't realize how small this town really is, do you?" Then she tells me about the whole connection. After I told her that I applied to the same clinic, she told me that she talked to the doctor about me when she told the doc that she hired me. This was when the both of them were talking about the other girl who applied. Doc: *upon finding out who applied for the job (the other girl)* Oh my, you didn't hire her, did you? Boss: "No, I hired another girl. Diana." Doc: I remember interviewing her. She's a good girl, but she has no experience. Why do you hire someone with no experience? After six months, they leave!" Boss: "Well, isn't the whole thing is for people in her position to gather experience? How can they get a break if we are not willing to train them? Everyone gets trained when they first get hired anyway!"
So yeah... that made me feel *very* good. :-D She also told me that in this job and with this hospital, I will be building up a *lot* of experience. More reason to stick to this job for at least three or so years. XD!
*is watching The Surreal Life* You know, I want to be like Tammy Faye. She's a really strong Christian woman, who went through a lot, and still remains humble, and does NOT discriminate against anyone. The Spirit is truly with her! :-D
Okay, I'm going to end my entry now. See y'all next update...

When I left Excalibur, I didn't feel a thing. I didn't feel like I would miss the job at all. I guess because I've been ready for a change of careers for a while, and that job was getting to me. *shrugs* But yeah... the last day working at the casino was cool. Not much happened, gave a lot of hugs, and went on my merry way.
Today was my first day at the hospital. My boss was kind of surprised that I would pick up so much so fast, and do it so well, too. She showed me how to do a few dictations first before I did some myself, and from then on, I did them all. Even did the ones that are supposed to be for tomorrow. LOL!
But anyway... new job went well. Will be back tomorrow. Very interesting, that job is. :D

Word up!
So anyway, today at orientation was pretty interesting. A bit more thorough than most, but it's all good. They went through the employee benefits, and the one thing that caught my eye was membership to 24 Hour Fitness. It's a monthly fee of $39 for all clubs, except for the Summerlin location. *shrugs* I'll think about it...
It's a pretty good package... Medical (Blue Cross/Blue Sheild)/Dental (Delta)/Vision, 401K (Okay, I know 401K's are for retirements, but to say that I have absolutely *NO* clue about any kind of details would be an understatement. Anyone knows about how it all works and stuff? I know I should be thinking about it since both of my beloved aunties from CA told me that's an important thing to have), tuition reimbursement, transfers to any other company clinic/hospital in all 50 states and Canada after 6 months of employment,... not too shabby. *nods* I can get the hang of all of these stuff. Remember, this is my first official job in the medical field, particularly in a hospital, so I'm looking forward to everything that comes along with the job and the company I'm working for.
After orientation was done, I stopped by at the Las Vegas Outlet Center and did my early voting. Now I have a cute little bumper sticker on my car that says "I Voted." :-D I'm not totally proud of the sticker, but I'm proud of the fact that I voted. Last time I tried to even *register* to vote, they screwed me over a technicality (I *hear* the law is that you have to be 18 by election day, but when I went to register back in 2000, they told me that I have to be 18 by registration. The end of registration at that time was October 4th, my bday is Halloween, and election day was November 5th [The day that will live in infamy]), so I was *really* looking forward to this election. I made my voice heard, I voted, and I'm happy. :-D
Okay, I'm gonna go eat a little something and read all of the paperwork that was handed out to me during orientation, in addition to making some kind of sense with this 401K stuff... *head spinning* But really, I can't wait until I start my job at the hospital. I wish I could start tomorrow, but alas... give Excalibur professional respect and give them the two weeks due to them... GAH!

Today I do my new employee orientation at the new working place, then I go to the mall, not to shop, but to do my good ol' early voting. Here in the state of Nevada (or at least in Clark County), we resident voters have the option of voting *before* the actual election date at selected areas. I figure since I have already made up my mind on who and what I'm going to vote for, I might as well go for it, ya know?
